Central Queensland Coal Project Approvals
Media release: Managing Director of Central Queensland Coal, Nui Harris, said today the Environmental Assessment report for the Central Queensland Coal Project prepared by the Department of Environment and Science provides a pathway for mine operations. Key areas to be addressed are project impacts to the receiving environment, groundwater resources and the Bruce Highway, which have been largely dealt with within the Environmental Impact Statement. Central Queensland Coal will work closely with the Department to mitigate these impacts, with a view of applying for an environmental licence in the near future, to commence operations. ENDS

Public Notification of SEIS
The proponent has responded to the submissions, provided amendments to the EIS and submitted an EIS amendment notice to the Department of Environment and Science on 18 May 2018. Click here to view SEIS.
Public Notification of EIS
The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) issued a Notice of decision to proceed with the environmental impact statement (EIS) on 20th October 2017. This was an important decision for the CQCPL project as it allowed the EIS to proceed to the public notification stage of the EIS process.
Grant EPC 1029
On 20th April 2006, the Mining Registrar, under the Mineral Resources Act 1989, granted the exploration permit for coal EPC 1029 for coal exploration on the land associated with the CQCPL project.
